In brief:
I can't connect my main Win7 PC to my fresh WHS 2011 install on my Microserver. I keep getting the following error message:
Cannot connect the computer to the server because either another software installation is in progress, or, the computer has a restart pending. Either complete the installation process, or, restart the computer and try to connect it again
More detail:
Finally got around to installing WHS 2011 on my new Dell Microserver. All seemed to go without a hitch until I tried to connect to it from my main PC. I was able to download the Computer Connector exe but whenever I try and run it I get the above message. I've tried it several times, also restarting the PC and the Server, re-downloading the exe. Most things I can think of.
I can see the server in my network and as mentioned, can get to it via homeserver/connect, but can't get the connection software to do its thing.
I gave up and tried to do it from my WinXP netbook and it worked perfectly. It's connected and I can log into the dashboard etc.
Tried my PC again afterwards and still no joy.
Any ideas please
