Whs 2011 reinstall or jump to something else

So have problems with my C drive so I need to reinstall or just jump to something else, been running this since V1 was released but now the kids have left home and I have moved from a laptop to iPad with just a win 10 desktop for casual/simple gaming. So the server has just sat in a cupboard for a few years now with no client backups and no file sharing just a file storage, spec wise 8Gb ram and a A4 5300 @ 3.4Ghz 13tb storage, although as I tidy it up this is dropping (just removed a 3 & 4 Tb drive from pool). Don’t mind trying something else as long as it has file duplication.

I moved away from WHS2011 when I upgraded my server last year. I just replaced it with Win 10 pro, still has drive pools etc. been very pleased with the change.

Still not touched it can’t make my mind up to change over to something

Take a look at Unraid, from an OS level. I like it, but honestly it doesn’t do anything Windows 10 can’t… then there are things like FreeNAS too, it’s all a bit situational. You may find the power consumption on an old box 24/7 justifies replacing with a low powered device these days.
