WHS as a Proxy Server?

Hello I wanted to control the childrens access to the internet so I set up my WHS as a proxy sever as by this guide http://computingondemand.com/?p=1045 Setup was a breese and works great at only allowing access to certain sites. BUT my problem is that it has killed all internet speed... I have a gigabit network and am on Virgin 20mbit internet, before I set up the proxy I did speedtest and was getting 19 mb but since setting up the proxy I am only getting these speeds

Now I knew it would reduce my speeds by a bit...but surely I should be getting better speeds than this?

whats the spec on the WHS? if it's really low it could cause an issue?
have you checked freeproxy for advanced settings?
