I dont know why this has happened but it is always happening without fail
but it did not use to and there have been no hardware changes
facts:
1) only the WHS 2011 OS fails - system reserved and any data are always fine
2) its a 3TB drive but as far as im aware this is fine as long as the backups are not 3TB
3) even with just backing up the OS it fails every time
4) the backup itself gets to 100% but fails here
any help would be greatly appreciated! all i really want backed up to this usb drive are
my client OS backups
the server OS
documents and pics
