So about 6 months ago I was having issues with what appeared to be the Dimm slots on my z77 extreme. I'd go to turn it on of an evening and the damn thing would just boot loop until I swapped a few ram sticks around. Problem sorted I thought.
About 2 months ago it started to happen again. Swapped the sticks around again to the slots I thought had failed, would stay functional for about 2 weeks and then it would happen again!
The last time this happened it would get so far as the home screen and then blue screen displaying a memory error. After an hour of tinkering I thought sod it, I'll just wipe the damn thing and see if that does anything.
It worked! It's been fine now for ever a month and I CANNOT ascertain as to what the issue might have been... I'm not hugely computer literate or anything so it never really occurred to me that it could have been a software problem.
Anyone got a clue as to what might have been going on?
