Why all the visual enhancements?

Hello All,

In the majority of the screenies folks post of their OC's they have all the visual enhancements for XP turned.

Won't this affect performance or is point that you can have all the cosmetics on and still spank the competition?

Point is some people like their systems to look good.

If I were to post a picture of myself I would probably not want one of me looking like a fool.

Just a matter of preference really.

turning off xp enhancements with a current spec computer will give you such a small boost these days thats its now pretty pointless, in the days of 1ghz processors and 256meg ram, turning off your background and visual themes actually did help and give a perceptible boost, these days its pretty much pointless and makes your desktop look less cool
