Why am I lagging?

So I have just stumbled upon a scene in the new Prey which is causing my framerate to tank. Normally I'm sitting around 130fps but upon entering this room (the door is just behind me) and looking at the scene below the framerate has dropped all the way to 15fps. This is despite the GPU usage being <20% and the CPU usage generally being 60-80%. So what is the bottleneck here? I'm not out of VRAM nor am I out of RAM. It doesn't just lag when I first look at the scene - it doesn't improve over time.

Might this be a driver issue? If I simply turn around my GPU usage shoots up as does the framerate.

Might be the way the game is coded, if you've entered a new area? I don't know the game.

What's your pc spec what settings are you running the game at, does it happen with other games?

Far too many variables to consider.

If it's that just one room then map is bugged, probably get a update sometime

Looks more like a problem with the game and not your PC.
