using utorrent and recently download speed seems to have dropped off significantly. Have noticed that I don't seem to be uploading at all. Occasionally get 0.1K then it goes back to 0.

utorrent is added to my Windows Firewall so presume it's a setting on my Huawei 882v2 modem router (supplied by TalkTalk)?

ps. Normal download speeds from websites have increased significantly. Must have had an upgrade recently.

like I say, pure speed (downloading drivers etc) has gone up significantly. Gone from about a 2mb connection up to nearly 8mb. :)

I know TalkTalk do throttle at peak times but I've received no warnings about usage.

Was mucking about with the router's settings to try and open a port (as recommended by port forward.com) so might have mucked something up. :(

If utorrent itself is blocking something, there will be either a red or yellow icon at the bottom of the program with a warning signal on it (hover your mouse over it and it will say!) - otherwise its a green "tick" which says all is fine!!!

My guess it that TalkTalk have given you something free with one hand (the upgrade to 8mb).....and whipped something else away with the other!!! (torrent downloading - the major use of a faster connection) ;)

There is no such thing as an ISP "freebie" mate!! ;)

the NAT icon (I think) is showing up green as normal. If I go to the test thing on utorrent, that shows that my port is ok as well.

Could try changing the port I suppose to see if that particular one is blocked somewhere further up the tree (eg ISP).

A lot of people suggest changing the default utorrent port (usually between 10000 and 65535) but I've never had any problems!! (probably because Bulldog are too stupid to know how to block certain ports though!) :D
