Why am i suddenly getting news articles on google search home?

Since this morning i am getting news articles and weather at the bottom of the search bar on google home page. When i open an ingocnito window its not there, Anyone know how to turn it off?

may be posted in the wrong section and better suited for windows section and other softare.

assume this is chrome? what happen when you click the 3 dots? perhaps an indiciation of what's causing it? given how ugly the placement is, i'm going to say it's not official and you've got an extension doing this.

Has done this with mee too, On firefox!.

Blocked it as saw no way of removing it via settings.

Its the reason I use google is no crap all over the page just a search bar .

Google.com tests a news-filled homepage, just like Bing and Yahoo

The mobile app has a "Google Discover" newsfeed, so the homepage should, too?

TBH a lot of the reason I use Google is the lack of **** on the default search page, don't care if it is there as an optional thing. If they start forcing that stuff I'll probably look at alternatives.

EDIT: Though you can just search through the URL bar skipping it.

Yeah they are trying to make the desktop experience more like my pixel phone experience. I too noticed that and instantly turned it off. No loss.
