Hardware Unboxed have a video explaining everything.

Basically retailers buy at a high expected price and get rebates if the MSRP is lower. Unfortunately the rebates can be limited.

From the sound of the HUB video, once new stock gets ordered and shipped, then we should be seeing more cards sold at MSRP.

Whether that will actually happen, or retailers will continue to take advantage of the frenzy and raise prices remains to be seen!

Retailers won't sell it at msrp when they have buyers willing to pay £100 more. This is all on the customers.

I don't know that prices will normalise.. I feel like this is the new normal. They're all businesses, if they can see people buying at these prices and in quantities that they can produce, there's no obvious reason to lower the prices.
