Ok here we go. Originally I was going to put together a new system which would have been built around the AMD II x6. Now it would not have been a great system and I worked it on a budget of about €450 but after reading many different threads I decided that it may be best to just upgrade my current PC and wait until I have close to 4 figures for a new system and get one that is gonna really do the new games justice.
What I will need to change is my CPU, Graphics Card and PSU.
The Graphics card is sorted as going for the ATI HD5850 on some good advice on another thread and the PSU is the Cosair CX600 but the chip is what is causing me concern.

My motherboard is the Asus P5KPL/1600

and looking through the CPU supported list I was going to go for the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400

This was a definite decision until I thought I would just have a quick browse to see what the peeps on here thought and I found comments about this chip not being too good. Now a lot of these comments were on new build threads so maybe if going for a complete new machine this chip is a little outdated but for just a simple upgrade to help handle say Black Ops would this chip cut it? I am just looking to get me through to winter of this year and as my current CPU is an Intel Core Duo E7400 I am in desperate need of a temporary boost (wont even mention the current Graphics card I have)

I think that if this is good enough I will not visit this forum again until I have everything bought and setp......each time I have a browse I find something new.
