Why are estimated DL times still often based on 56K

As above really.

Even though (Almost) nobody has used dial up for literally decades, why do downloading instructions still frequently come with statements such as.

"Estimated Download at 56K, "X" Minutes"

:confused:
 
Probably because there are STILL areas in the UK and rest of the world where dial-up speeds are the best achievable
 
The same reason games and programmes declare a minimum hardware specification, even when it's something like "Pentium 166MHz processor and 32MB of SDRAM"
