Why are football players such nancy boys?

There'll probably be a half-hearted attempt at justification along the lines of the speed the game is played at, they are honed athletes and suchlike, but no, they're pretty much girly-men whatever way you look at it :p
 
I remember the good old days when Football was a contact sport. Half the pansys these days wouldn't last 10 minutes let alone a full match. I'd love to see how long Ronaldo would be rolling about on the floor after he tried get past Ian Cranson and Vince Overson for instance.

Call someone like Genarro Gattuso a "nancy boy" and see how long you last.
 
Notice how it's only when the ref turns tail and legs it that the players get brave. Up until that point, it was just a pack of cowards afraid to make a commitment to attack.

That ref would kick each one of their arses, and they all knew it too.
