Why are iPhones so gosh darn cool?

So as I'm getting one of these tomorrow, I thought I'd better get to know exactly what I can do with my shiny new iPhone...

On a recent trip to Dubai for a series photography workshops, most of the guys there had iphones. They were from the USA, Pakistan, Singapore, UK...they all loved their v1 iPhones and used them for music, videos and most importantly to showcase their images, like a little travelling portfolio.

Now my TyTN II has a big enough screen but it's very low resolution and so my photographs don't look all that great on it. However the iPhone screen is so clear and crisp their photos looked great. That coupled with the simple interface, slick design and fantastic web browsing compared with my Windows Mobile phone convinced me to buy a new one when they were released.

So what other cool stuff can these little phones do that I've not yet seen? Why do YOU love your iphone? Are there any 3rd party apps that are a must to install?

Give me your thoughts :)

Given that I hate iplods, the thing that has fascinated me about the Touch/Phone is the software kit Apple have pulled out. The SDK alone is a quality bit of kit and enables devs to really come up with some cool stuff.

The selection of toys on installer.app accessible via jailbroken touch/phones is quite remarkable and just shows what people are capable of with the right kit. It can only get better and I want around to see it.

Just the little things,

the touch interface is just brilliant
Screen is the best i've seen
Its thin
It feels solid, metal. (dunno how the V2 will feel)
net, email very easy
Music and video is just so easy and sounds good.

Any apps in particular that stand out from the crowd? I'm a total iPhone newbie so I'm learning every step.
