Why are mobos with integrated graphics often the cheapest?

I cant understand for the life of me how this can be?

I have had a look, and all the mobo's in my price range have integrated graphics.

If I dont want integrated graphics, it usually costs £5-£10 more?

Why? How?

I dont understand....

Surely the integrated graphics mobo's cant be the cheapest when they can do more???

So it's best to stay clear of them then?

I was going to buy one as it does everything I need, but I really dont need the onboard graphics....

I wouldnt say stay clear of them, if it suits your needs go for them :) Also, a lot of the more expensive motherboards are built to take quite a lot of abuse in overclocking

Often the chipset used is a cheaper cut down version (or just cheaper, value orientated :p ) and you'll find that the board is either Micro-ATX or rather lacking in features (since it is aimed at people that just want a simple system for basic Windows stuff rather than a Crossfired monster).
