Hi all

I've always built my own pc but have limited time now so I was checking prebuilds on various sites and noticed that most are watercooled

I've never owned a watercooled pc before and have no idea about any of that stuff especially if it goes wrong. Why is there a lack of air cooling?

My current pc with fractal r7 and noctua fans are so silent I have no idea it's even on. I don't care about RGB and my side panel is usually blacked out

AIOs are cheap enough, easy to install, no RAM height issues and better when shipping a PC, less mass hanging off the motherboard. A lot of buyer also want them. A good air cooler in most cases will do the job. I'd say different rather than better.

Easier to attach during assembly.
Safer shipping.
Can charge less knowledgeable people more because it's 'water cooled'.
Current fashion trend. i.e. the coolers RGB lights shining through the impractical glass window.

They do lower temps, but I stick with air cooling for the reasons you say, my fans are near silent and don’t notice them!

Do love the look of water coolers though, the custom ones especially !
