Why are new ATI drivers so annoying?

Just installed a fresh copy of windows in my new HD

Installed Service pack 2, motherboard drivers, then I install ATI catalyst

first came Cli.exe error ???? from cat 6.1

removed and it was gone, so i tried the latest one

got mom.exe error. Realise i need .net framework 2.0 or something.......

Baaaaaaaaaaaaa, why can't it just work, i am tempted to put on cat 5.9 or something.

I always wondered why they don't bundle .Net with it, I had the same problem

The .NET framework is needed for ATi CCC. I don't use it and instead use the omega drivers, which are just modified drivers. Never have install problems with them.

I currently have the 3.8.330 drivers on that page installed. Don't really want to change them though as all my games work on these drivers, it's when i start fiddling around with them that games start to not work. If it ain't broke don't fix it eh!

or you could download the drivers on their own, and just use ATi Tray Tools to do all your AA/AF etc... settings, no .NET guff required.
