Why are OCUK so tight when it comes to forum signatures ?

Why are OCUK so anul about signature size ? Yeah sure I can understand mahoosive sigs being an eye sore and taking up lots of storage space and 400x75 is a good size but I just got my sig removed because it was 0.2kb over the allowance, Now this doesn't bother me as rules are rules.
Total of 20.4kb instead of the allowed 20kb, I mean come on, Anuly retentive or what over 0.4kb :rolleyes:

Like you said, rules are rules. Tight sig rules keeps the place tidy IMO.

So you knew that 20kb was the maximum and you went over it, and you're now crying over it being removed despite knowing it broke the rules?

What would be the point in having rules if they weren't enforced?
To be honest the fact it annoyed you that much you had to post about it seems stranger than the ruling itself.

As far as Im aware they like keeping the forum nice and speedy!. Having 10 posts a page with 20MB signatures for each page will put some strain on the server I guess.

20kb is the rule, if we allow people with over that limit, then it is one rule for one, and one for another. So 20kb is for everyone, if you like it or not. Simple really. Keeps the forum clean and quick to load.

Rules are rules. If we allow someone to go 0.2kb over, someone will go 0.4kb over, then so on. It isn't hard to keep your signature within the specified sizes.

And you seem to be moaning a lot for someone who isn't bothered by it.

Not on the OcUK servers, but it would put a huge drain on your own internet connection as you'd have to download up to thirty 20MB signatures on every page you load.

You seem to be getting confused too. Not only is it the FIFTH time we've had to deal with your signature being wrong and your abuse when you can't keep to the rules, but you seem to think that 20.4kb is only .2kb over the limit...
