Why are people so plate/age obsessed?

So i go and check out my mums new possible purchase with her (60 reg 1.2S polo) and she goes to me "why don't you think of changing your old 06 plate (320D SE) to something new like this?" :rolleyes:

She did'nt even want to hear of getting a slightly older but cheaper car..

OMG i hope she dosen't find that out! more money down the drain cause she will get an 11 plate. As for the power... shes moving up from an 08 1.2 Auto Micra, its gotta be faster!

Well shes trading in for a Fiesta 1.4 Auto titanium trim i think, better choice imo.
