Why are retail stores scalping us now with the 9800X3D?

Supermarkets price gouging and offering two tier pricing to make us think a loyalty card tiered price is amazing, petrol stations not properly passing on the 5p cut, game companies and live services/releasing broken games/focussing more on 'extracting value', our franchised rail system (tried to book some tickets for some volunteers today and was offered over 20 different types for one ticket - why!?) taking the **** including inflation busting increases for worsening services, nVidia's dominance translating to ludicrous pricing and shenanigans with the tiering, water companies now demanding inflation busting increases to now fix what they should have been already investing in and fixing,

It's quite depressing how much greed/short term gains plays a part in modern society.

RRP £449 and now they're all selling £530+

:/ Like ok I wont buy one then.

We're being scalped by official sellers now, not morons on eBay.
I know its been mentioned on OCUK but the value of the pound impacts the prices as well.

If they can buy them cheaper then the price they sell on in cheaper, if they pay more it then pushes the prices up.

OCUK kept the prices on pre order for £450 for awhile even though others had pushed the prices up quite quickly.

Nearly blurted my tea out when I read nVidia were claiming the new 5070 is equivalent to a 4090 because of some newer AI gen stuff. Had to check I was not born yesterday.
