so i get that thre can be apu am4 cpus used in them but surely thats just going to be a thing on cheaper boards, i mean why buy a 370x to stick an apu in it?

am i missing something but its seems a waste to be included on so many boards that will never use it?

I think its down to the manufactures not wanting to fragment the market so if the APU's are popular peeps wont be put off with no video input.

AMD might have stipulated that all AM4 boards need to be compatible with all AM4 CPU's to avoid confusion so the manufacturers might not have a choice in the matter. It makes sense imo

I have to admit I have bought a 370 board that has displayport and hdmi which can both do 4096X2160@ 60Hz and also Dvi-D and I will probably not use them, but hey you never know.

I think it's stupid to have DP or HDMI on these boards as most users are going to use a gpu, but if the gpu fails maybe they will be cool to get a boot into windows, but I have also heard that Ryzen doesn't support on board graphics. maybe I'm wrong

can it? wont the vdu out on the board only work if you put an APU in the thing? so slap in a ryzen chip as i understand they have no gpu on them so the vdu outputs on the board are of no use at all, or am i missing soemthing?
