Why are some of my wuresults files still not sent?

Hi,

Only been folding for Team10 for a week or so, but I've already noticed on both machines via FAHMON that several 'wuresults_XX.dat' files are still unsent? It tries to resend them each time I complete a WU before downloading the next one.

I think my PC's have folded them, compiled the results, but they are just not being sent through?

I must have about 4 or 5 on each machine now, and I'm sure my WU total should be higher!!

I'm running the FAH client as a service in windows.

Any thoughts?

Did you tell the clients to use IE settings when you configured them? Sometimes, if you did do that and it isn't working then if you say no to that question and then follow the prompts it gives you, it can work. Shut down the clients and use the -configonly flag to alter the settings.

Yeah, I told the clients to use IE settings when I set them up.

So, I should re-config the clients and then say no, and follow the on screen instructions?

Yes that should solve the problem - a while ago microsoft changed something and since then "Yes" has no longer worked properly.

Ok, thanks, I'll try that when I get back home later.

It's not all of the work units though, just some of them.

It just seems pot luck whether some get through or not.

Ok, an update, I tried re-configuring the clients to use the proxy settings instead of IE settings, and it still won't send the wuresults. In fact, it wouldn't connect at all through that method, so had to change back to use IE settings.

I must have about 5 or 6 stuck on each of my machines now, and that's in just 2 weeks!

I've allowed the clients full access through my firewall software, and tried the -send all command too, but still these units won't go through!

Most go through just fine.

Any other things I should try?

Update, I'm still getting problems with unsent work units.

I've reinstalled the clients, tried the -send all command, setup the client using Internet settings, and manually using the suggestions in the client, and still I've got on average 1 or 2 work units between the 2 computers remaining unsent every few days. In total, in my two and a bit weeks of folding, I've managed to send in 41 completed units, but a total of 9 between the computers are just stuck and won't send. They have no trouble at all downloading new units.

I might give this up as a bad job to be honest. I don't mind using electricity for folding, but it's a total waste if the ruddy units don't get sent!! :(

It would be worth asking on the main forums - http://forum.folding-community.org/forums.html

Log files and concise details of how your connection is set up would probably be a good start for someone over there to have a go at helping you solve your problem - having never had a connection problem myself (apart from the odd server going down) I'm all out of ideas sorry :o

edit: It could also be useful to give "qd" a try so you can get specifics about the WUs that aren't sending - there may be some relationship between them
