Why are the 12th gen custom build PC options so lacking compared to the 11th gen?

Hi All,

I have been looking at the 11th and 12th gen offerings from OC in terms of custom PC builds (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/pc-systems/custom-pcs/gaming-pc), i noticed a couple of perplexing things:
  1. you seem to have a much more cut down choice of components for the 12th gen. if you look at case, mb and gpu choices for example, you're missing many of the better component options in the 12th gen component selector?
  2. this applies to both gens, though more so to the 12th. why are the better top end mbs not even listed as an option (asus for example: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...lga-1200-ddr4-eatx-motherboard-mb-6fv-as.html or https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...tel-z690-ddr5-eatx-motherboard-mb-6h5-as.html)?
It looks like if you want them to build you a nice machine, you have to go for the earlier generation for some reason?

May be a better place to post.

I do not work for OCUK so cannnot say why they have so few options. The 2 mobos you link are almost £1k , only a tiny percentage of enthusiats would even consider a mobo that expensive so hardly a surprise no pcs with them in it.

If you want something in particular you can always ring them up and ask if they will build a PC to your specifications with a build fee on top.

You can pick your own custom list of components and ask OCUK to build it for you if you don't fancy any of their prebuilt/custom options.

You don't need a £900 motherboard to make a nice machine. Unless your budget is unlimited then you are better looking at something around £250ish as it will do the same job.
