I'm looking around for one and they are few and far between, have ATI stopped making them? They seem to be the card of choice for around the £150 budget which is where I am. It seems that only OCUK has them????
If not the X1800XT, what else is good for around the price of £150

cheers

no nothing wrong with that one at all, the thing is I like to shop around before I buy and I can only find them at OCUK hense the question: why are they hard to find? I've looked on all the major websites and can only find X1800XTs that have 512mb which are too expensive for me. I suppose I'm also asking why have they been phased out?

cheers

Yep definitely get the X1800XT 256MB card from OcUK, before they sell out. You will not find a better card for that sort of price. Production for the X1800XT cards has been stopped (with 6 month production cycles on graphics cards its no wonder), which is why they are harder to find. They are being replaced by the X1900GT (currently slightly slower in games, but also have more shaders & may run qiucker in future shader intensive games, also some can unlock to X1900XT) & later on in the year the X1900XT 256MB card are being released (these may cost more though).

because he asked what else is good for the £150 price, nothing equals the x1800xt in the bang per buck ratio (this excludes the 512MB versionb because they are awful unless you do bios mod to XTPE)

This is a forum, people ask questions because they dont know themselves. If you brand everyone a noob that questions something you're not gonna last long. And the 512mb are hardly awful

they offer a 1-2 fps increase but only at res's over 1280 x 1024 for an extra £60 yes they are awful a joke to be honest with you

Blimey you been under a rock, they were stopped in January. :p
if getting on with my life is being 'under a rock' I suppose I have. knowing when a certain graphics card became unavailable isn't on my list of priorities these days or any day for that matter. get a life.

Is there a master card to go with this card if i wanted to set it up on crossfire?

There is a master card yes, but as i said above x1800's were stopped in January so you'll be lucky to find a one now, i think there may be the odd one still out there though, you'll just have to get searching im afraid, and hope you can find a one still. :(

Blimey no need to get your nickers in a twist, was a light hearted joke, and they were stopped in January.

LOL, it only take 10 minutes every week looking through a computer tech site/mag to be informed on the latest hardware; I'm sure 10 minutes won't hinder the progress of your precious life.
