Why arent nvidia releaseing a driver newer than 97.44, we definatly need it,

I mean with all the problems from

2 out of the 3 memory clock domains only showing fullspeed and not working at fullspeed ect and also no pulldown for dvd viewing inclueing the countless problems with games...

for a flagship product you really would think they would release one wouldnt ya,, i guess there only after the money....

and whats with this new control pannel it completely sucks complaired to the old control pannel...

and finaly source bugs css in perticular becuse i play that a lot...

is anyone else getting black floors and purple squared floors in dust 2 map...
aswell as people appearing white in the forground.
makes playing source even harder than it should be.

You sound pretty unhappy, It might cheer you up to know that many people are experiancing a few issues like you mention your having with CSS, as far as I know valve are aware of the issue and are working on a fix, I also have had a few problems with other games also but I'm confident there be sorted with new driver releases, it's still early days yet, there is still plenty of time left for the drivers to mature.

its just driver updates are soooooooooooo slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww by the time we get mature drivers ATIS R600 flagship card will be released then then all the g80 customers will be ******.

Just installed 2 BFG 8800's GTX-Cant say im blown away as much as i thought,Had more issues with this build than i have had with previous 4.
Using less cards,opting for the onboard sound-not using onboard 10/100 base,opting for a wireless dongle,So my system is just board chip 2 sticks of memory and the 2 graphic cards and ive had to reinstall windows twice in 2 days and finally im getting no error messages.
3dmark06 results are just under 13 thousand, thought they would be round 14 thou.

I guess this is why we overclock and build our own kits... Its the enjoyment of it working and the sorting the issues.

I'm getting just over 12k with an overclocked single 8800gtx. I would have thought two gtx's would at least hit 14k..more when pushed. May have to reconsider a 2nd one now.

Sli is crap, think of the problems now with g80 drivers then times that by 10x
and you end up with worst performance running 2xg80s than you would running 1x g80....

sli or crossfire, there both overrated.
who wants to pay for a extra g80 that will only bump there performance 20% lol over a single g80s 100% also sli or crossfire performance sucks at the minute, infact its sucked pritty much most of its lifetime due to motherboard and gpu and games compatibility.

so I got to say that I am getting a much bigger gain than 20% I might only be using 2 7900gs cards but I have had no problems at all with SLI, I am using 97.44 driver from tweaksRUs and they seem to be stable one of the better drivers,
tweaksRUs seem to be coming out with drivers every week, I have tried quite a few and have had problems with some of them but like I said the 97.44 seems
to be doing the job well.

i read a review on you psu the galaxy 1000w and that its under rated and can do 1.2kw.

I think your system is fine minus the SLI. I had Crossfire and had nothing but trouble with it. You never know if its working properly etc etc. I got an 8800GTX and I am very pleased with it for the most part. We definitely need better drivers but its getting there. I won't purchase a dual card solution again until the support for it is much better.
