Why can I not download things?

I canny download anything using IE7 or FF.

If I try to open or save the file to any where it just doesn't appear.

Anyone have any ideas? Only started doing this a few days ago.

I've had this problem before.
I installed CCleaner and use that on 'Cleaner' and 'Registry' and it fixed it.

Can't promise it will work but might as well give it ago

Try booting into windows with only the bog standard windows services running (diagnostic startup in msconfig) and see if that resolves it. If it does then it's a process of elimination after that.

Any firewalls etc running?

Turns out AVG is messed up so I have just uninstalled it and everything seems fine now.

was going to ask which AV you use

AVG is cack, so is Zonealarm.

they both create more problems than they attempt to resolve.
