Why cant I buy MS Points off XBL ?

I would like to be some MS Points and also buy various games off XBL Marketplace.
But do you soley have to buy them with a credit card (which i dont have), or can you use a Visa Debit Card. Everytime I try it comes up with 'unable to authorise'.
Any ideas guys...

Go along to your local high street store, and you can buy them

A Visa Debit Card will work fine.

Either its not actually a Visa card, you are typing something wrong in or there is a security block on the card preventing you from making online transactions. Contact your bank to solve this.

when did you try purchasing points?
i was playing r6 vegas last night and heard quite a few saying that their mates were trying to download the new map pack but couldnt get any points put onto their cards due to xbl refusing to work...

Can you buy MS Points on XBL?! I looked the other day but wasn't able to find where you buy them with a debit/credit card.

If you go to buy/download something in the marketplace, you should have something at the bottom of the screen where you can press 'X' to add points.

Yeah I know, but when I enter my card details it comes back with an error, even though I know I have entered all details in correctly.

Has anybody managed to buy MS points using a debit/VISA card from a UK account??

Yes I have. Spent them on Lumines, when they ran the offer for the extra content.

Wow, I searched for ages trying to find how to buy MS points the other day and was well miffed when I found you couldn't buy them in the XBL marketplace

I bought my points from the dashboard, somewhere cant remember, but its there, was press X to get points at some screen

Its in the marketplace menu. That has already been mentioned.

I think he meant that he didn't have a credit card. Either that or he didn't read the post.
