I have a new PC with an ASUS ROG STRIX Z590-E GAMING mottherboard.

My old PC had a Essence STX II 7.1 sound card and my 5.1 speakers worked fine. My 5.1 speakers are Logitech Z-5500.

I am trying to connect my 5.1 speakers to the onboard sound on my new motherboard but really struggling.

I am getting no sound ouf the front 2 speakers. I am getting sound out of the centre speaker. I am also getting sound out of the rear speakers but the wrong way around. The rear left speaker is outputting rear right sound and the rear right speaker is outputting the rear left sound.

Can anybody spot what I am doing worng?

These are my wires coming from the subwoofer

this (as you know) is the motherboard audio inputs

I am matching the colours of the 3.5 jack from the subwoofer to the colours on the motherboard (green to green, black to black, and orange to orange)

Thses are my audio options

What am I doing wrong?

I briefly had this issue when setting things up yesterday with my system, updating drivers etc. I also had a phase of playing rear noises out of the right front speaker...

Restarted the computer. Restarted the receiver. Unplugged and plugged cables out of the motherboard and back in. Right click on the sound symbol in the taskbar, and select troubleshoot sound problems (that fixed one issue for me, can't remember which).

Make sure that each of your speakers is setup with volume, think you can get there via device manager, Sounds, Properties and maybe Levels?
