Why can't I get FTTC when

Confirm what?

He can get Fibre or I can't?

I have check on Talk Talk, Sky and BT's site, which say 30 September I can get it.

Confirm that you can't, the site may not be completely up to date so with a phone call they would also be able to answer your question :)

I have exactly the same problem - half of my estate are able to get FTTC and the other half are connected to a a cabinet that has a fiber box next to it yet cannot get it according to infinity checker.
Has anybody phoned and got fibre even though the checker says different ?

I have just rang BT, they said the checker can sometimes be out of date but she checked her internal system and it's not available.

She then mentioned it depends when the street cab get updated.

Its says

Welcome to the Broadband Availability checker. This will provide a provisional check of your ability to receive reliable Broadband services.

Please enter your telephone number.

There is no data available for this number. This could be either because it is not a BT line or it is a new BT number that has just been provided. Most new numbers will appear on the checker 24 hours after BT has installed the line.

If this is a new BT number and does not appear after 24 hours then please click here for further details.

I'm with SKY, so no BT line.

My phone line is with sky but when i use checker it tells me my ADSL speed and says i cannot get infinity - gonna ring sky now and check for sure.

:( Sky cannot do anything for me until they get the headsup that my cabinet is enabled it seems - the echange is enabled.

Ah well just have to be patient.

If it makes you feel any better the date, 30th of September is just a place holder date, you could well have it before then when your local cab is upgraded.

No point ringing BT as your with Sky.

Keep checking the Sky site as they may allow additional time before you can order even if BT Openreach have activated the cab.

You could always use a next-door neighbours number to run through the checker (ask first). BT Openreach won't tell end users, only the ISPs, when a cab is going live.
