My laptop (Dell XPS M1330) doesn't seem to want to play DVD Videos with WMP.

It comes up with

Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You may need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and colour quality settings.

It seems to to be fine with MediaDirect (Cyberlink) though.

Anyone have any ideas?:)

download media player classic, and install ffdshow get them both from codecs.com

will play the majority of videos (including dvd's)

really lightweight player, loads up in a snap

VLC wouldnt play a DVD? odd.

You could always try mplayer i find it far better than VLC, windows version is supposed to be be pretty good from what i hear

Thanks for the suggestions, I already have FFDshow on there and can play the DVD using another program, but I want to play it using WMP, which at the moment doesn't seem to want to work..

Actually, it's running Vista Business, is that likely to make a difference?
