Why can't some people talk properly?

I've been going in and out of these forums for a few months now and one thing I've noticed is the amount of people who can't seem to string a sentence together properly. In fact, it's not restricted to this forum alone - there is a fair amount of people in general who don't have that much of a grasp on the fundemantals of English.

My 'beef' is not necessarily that some people can't do it [because I imagine some people are dyslexic or can't understand certain grammatical rules] but that some won't. There seem to be people who just don't care about what they're writing - if things are misspelled, grammatically inaccurate etc. I think this is a strange thing.. why don't some people care about how they're writing? It's the only way that people on forums will have an idea of what kind of person you are, you may as well try to make it favourable.

I've never really understood people that don't care about how they appear when posting. I've always made an effort but some people are either too lazy or, as I say, simply don't care.

Bit baffling really.

Agree I have to.
Thanks for that Yoda.

Yeah I really don't understand it either. It really annoys me when people just leave out words randomly, its like they think that the sentence can be understood without it so it is rendered useless.

tis numbers of the peeps who dont just cus hey cant be assed lol why **** tey cus posh wons do??/?

Mozilla has a built in spell/grammar check which I always use to correct my posts.

* There we go I just spelt grammar as grammer and it corrected it :D

has cheezeburger?

I think a lot of the time it's down to laziness. I know that I have varying levels of commitment to grammar when I'm on the forum and it's down to time/energy :D But I agree really, better practise of grammar is a good thing.

Wiv chipz?

I am far from the most accurate when it comes to using grammar but, at least I will always review what I have typed to make sure it scans correctly.

It takes no time at all to type something that people can read and understand.

My grammar isn't exactly perfect but I do try. Some people on here don't even bother with full stops, commas or capital letters!

The question is, unless you can't understand what they're trying to say, why do you care so much?

I'd still like to know what they're saying out of curiosity. They may be making valid points, however hard they are to read.

If they can't put in the effort to make it easily comprehensible why should I put in the effort to decipher it?

I can usually decipher text that has been posted on here, but trying to understand some people speak is damn difficult!

I had a customer come up to me a few weeks back, and he asked:

Him: "Excuse me, where are your penis?"

Me:

Him: "You know, salted penis!"

Me: "Oh, PeaNUTS!"

:p

Because if someone wants me to listen to their opinion they should at least put some effort into presenting it.

Would you take your boss (if you have one) seriously if they spoke like a complete idiot, couldn't spell and refused to use grammar correctly?
