Why can't you install OSX on a normal PC?

To an extent you can. By that I mean its probably not a fully fledged OSX and probably not really legit.

But I know my mate got 'OSX' or some resemblance on his laptop. I'm a software dummy, can't explain any more. :cool:
 
most people who cant afford macs just use the leopard theme but i know that you can install some sort of OSX because ive seen it on youtube, i think it was installed on a g41/31 motherboard.

Ah i imagined it wouldn't be legit.

Just to clear up, i'm not asking for advice or how to do it, just asking why more people don't do it and what's stopping me?
 
there are ways of doing it, im sure a google for 'hackintosh' should explain. As far as i see, its legitimate, as you're buying the software (i hope :p) and you should be able to do what you want with it. However, if Apple had its own way with things like this, doing this would probably incur the death penalty (in a way, its like jailbreaking your iphone)

on a side note, i dont think hackintoshes are supposed to be discussed on this forum. Perhaps its best you looked elsewhere :/
