So I have recently played Bulletstorm (2011) and Remember Me (2013) which is based on Unreal Engine. I also found this list. I must say that even tho graphics isn't that bad but don't you guys think we should already jump to better game engine and completely ditch Unreal Engine ? The gaming industry is evolving every year after all :D

What do you guys think about it ?

When you say Unreal Engine, what version do you mean? The only other engines which come close to features I can think of are Frostbite and Cryengine, even then I seriously doubt they come close in terms of ease of development and off the shelf readiness.

Can't say I have any problem with it, there are some alternatives out there but it's still one of the best out there.

Unreal Engine 4 is fantastic what are you talking about OP? you must mean older generations of the engine.... but upcoming games are using UE4 why on earth would it be ditched?

Well judging by those two games I played, BS on nearly full details looks like my old Radeon X550 256 MB could get that ... Tho I admit that I didn't took engine version into account.

BTW is UE4 free ?

So you played 2 old games which weren't very good, and instead of blaming the games, you blame the engine?

Yes UE4 is free and can be downloaded from their website, although you probably aren't going to get very far if you don't know what you're doing.

Nope, I didn't only played 2 old games but I played more recent games long time ago this year but can't name them as I don't keep a log of all the games I played and my experience overall with games on Unreal Engine isn't good because most of time graphics sucks as hell.

Well, I have played around with Unity so it won't be a problem with toying around UE4.
Is it just me when I get on official website and click on Get Unreal button the website loads (ssl certificate) and the whole web-page is white with no content whatsoever ? O_o

Its great for quickly getting into development and it doesn't cost the earth. In addition to being a good engine its got a lot going for it!

Have we not hit a point yet where its time to slow down on graphical advances and move back to gameplay development?

Gameplay development won't take off bar a few games. How often do you see a reviewer comment on a new style of gameplay it's always omg this looks pretty.

Although personally I can't think of anything that could be done to further gameplay it's all been done before it's just the implementation that's lacking in some games.
