Why do people go from merry to pure stupid/idiotic behaviour when drunk?

Ok, it happens due to more drink but what actually makes the mind of these people go into, ' i'll do anything I want because it's funny' mode??

I was a complete fool last night, got carried away with drink and acted like an complete idiot. Probably lost friends due to it and i'm never like that. I wasn't violent or anything, just singing really loud outside and being a complete chav.

What does alcohol do to the head? I can't remember anything which is the worst bit, courtesy of smirnoff blue label.

I'm after a valid medical points, i'm interested.

Well if you want the medical reasons then you arn;t going to understand them unless you know a fair bit about biochem/how the receptors work etc.

But if you just mean the effects, then lower inhibitions is the cause, you want to do what you did but normally your dignity/fears wouldn;t alow it :p

So basically it makes you think I can do this and get away with it?

Sort of, alcohol lowers your inhibitions as said so what you would normally dismiss as being outwith sensible ideas/the bounds of decency suddenly becomes quite acceptable to you. It is unlikely to allow you to do anything you are strongly against but things that are more on the margins you may do.

Incidentally, a better title than "Why?" would be helpful for this thread.

One of my mates gets really violent when he has a certain drink but he's one of the softest guys you'll ever meet sober.

Is it because it makes him feel ill or something?

No he just normally wants to be violent but bottles it up etc, and doesn;t do it.

There will be a single event or more likley a seris of events that led to him having a high dislike for violence.

It could be that he has been suppressing his violent tendencies either conciously or subconciously, perhaps it is linked by association when he drinks a certain drink he feels he has to be violent. You're asking a question with a myriad of possible reasons and without meeting the chap I doubt any of us could give an accurate diagnosis, even then we probably couldn't.

you have lost friends because you sang loudly?

if only the worst thing people do when they are drunk was sing the world would be a nicer place sometimes

I was just being a naughty boy.

Just singing, with the odd swear word chucked in.

My mates were egging me on and then joined in so yeah not all my fault.

Didnt smash anything up or anything like that, just had a bad night.

I always seem to have bad nights which usually get me angry and I go home but last night, maybe due to the fact I had lots and lots of different drinks I went back a few years in mental capacity.

I do feel I need to mature though.

Deary me.

So you had a little sing-a-long with your friends at the end of a night?

Seriously, mellow out. That sounds pretty 'merry' to me. Why the hell would your friends disown you? Sounds like either you're making a mountain out of a molehill or your friends are far too judgemental.

It was a big party and I showed some people up apparently.

I do need to sort myself out though, little things seem to have a big impact on me when I'm drunk.

Someone steals my drink in a pub and i'm sober i'd ask for it back.

Someone steals my drink when i'm drunk, I jump on there back!

I can't dance at the moment as my knee is on the mend. It means I have to sit out and basically........drink.

:o

Sounds perfectly normal

I'm not sure why, but when i'm drunk little things in general seem to really annoy me.

Went to a bar, everyone inside, me and a mate get a pitcher.

Then everyones outside waiting to go. I'm like hang on, just got a drink here. Then the group walks off.

Normal I'd be like ahh well, i'll catch you up but when i'm drunk it's suddenly a big deal and i'm saying if they want to leave us, we'll not tag along with them all night and do our own thing.

Unpolitely.
