Why do all my Xvid video's stutter?

Seemingly every xvid I have stutters constantly if I play it back in WMP or MPC. They play smooth in VLC player mind.

Am I right in thinking that this is because VLC uses its own propriatery codec's rather than the Directshow filters that media player uses?

If so, I am using ffdshow, what is better?

Try turning off post proccessing.
