never liked ducatis or the sound myself but since getting one last year as my toy bike with termis and an open clutch im converted. they sound like a proper bike when moving and like the sound on tickover.

There is a mod that I ran on my 748S for a while, which is sticking an extra friction plate at the back of the plate pack. This rids of the 'bolt' noise at idle, but keeps the tambourine noise with the clutch pulled in. Works with ALL dry clutches from my understanding.

However, left the 1098S as it is, like the rattle. Has so many people confused lol.
