Simple question, i guess applicable to CPU's too
Now I know that there is an awful lot behind the scenes, R&D, staffing, FABs etc
But component cost, the board, cooling etc
Aside from the cost of the wafer, maybe the memory, is there really that much there?
We are just seeing so many REALLY expensive cards now....namely the Titan, how is that an order of 3 times more expensive than a reference 980 for example?
Surely its not the RAM alone is it?
Preservation of a tiered structure and prestige of course I guess has its place, exclusivity too.
I also know its a very naive question and I do know that silicon work does cost money, but just card to card its hard to understand the cost variance sometimes.
