Why do I get crashes with low temps?

I've only been adjusting the multiplier and core voltage on my AMD X2 5000 Black Edition and I'm getting crashes to desktop when running games @ 16x multiplier 200 fsb(auto) and 1.4v .

The strange thing is that temperature is fine and doesn't go over 40c @ load.

 Anyone know whats up with this?

Sounds about right for the 12v rail, tho no software can be 100% correct when it comes to voltages.

Give it a little more vcore.

I've given vcore 1.45v but the same thing happens.
I've heard 1.4v should be enough to get upto 16x on this chip, do you think I should try higher?

I haven't done anything to my RAM no, I'm no expert really and was just hoping for an easy overclock using the multiplier/bit of FSB.

By set up properly do you mean to add more appropriate voltage?

Make sure it is running the correct frequency, timings and voltage in the BIOS, a lot of boards default voltage for RAM isn't high enough.

My RAM should be running at 2.0v now but still says 1.8 in the bios "PC Health Status" menu. Should I trust it? lol
