Why do I hate apple?

Mac just sends shivers up me.

even though I studied them at degree level for 3 yrs.

I still hate them.


A PC video editor does not have the same BS as a mac editor and I have met many.

Both get the the final goal.But the mac user tends to be more full of BS.

PC crashes at every given opportunity, My mac has never crashed once.

PC doesn't like having more then 2 applications open, Mac likes having 1000 open and then likes to do special effects when switching windows.

In conclusion, mac rules PC sucks

Mac doesn't crash, pc doesn't crash
Mac limited software and choice, pc ultimate software and choice
Mac can't play games, pc plays games
Mac look great, standard pc's look crap, but if you build your own and spend some money on a case look great
Mac overpriced, pc priced well

Could probably go on for ever, I've used pc's and macs.
neither crash, both work well, ones overpriced and has limited software/games.

One is for spikey haired middle aged men that think they are artists.

The other is for the professional that knows his stuff.And just get on with it.

I think its more to do with the user than the hardware.

Every mac guy I met at university was a ****

In my final year i studied sound design and did the whole assisgnment on my home PC.

I got 92%

The few MAC guys at uni ( and i mean anti PC guys) had to eat humble PIE.

They seem to be in a world of their own.MAC world I call it.

Very odd and very sad.

BTW it was pro tools.

blame the operator, not the copc. Not even my parents have crashed xp, they had there install for 3 years. All I do is run some very basic maintance when ever I go visit them. One of tehm is updating a very out of date virus software.

any one who gets xp to crash can't use a computer or has something dodgy installed.

MAC users seem to have a odd sense of imperialism when in fact better things can be done on PC.

I just want apple users to get a grip TBH

I have the iMac listed below, it runs whatever programs I want; including any game I want.

Is more stable than Windows will EVER be.

iLife suite comes with the mac, with OSX...Make websites, edit and create movies, dvds, edit photos, front row, etc and etc...

You cant even play a dvd from a fresh XP install LOL...It might have the biggest available software out there, but you just dont get that 'out of the box' experience.

What do windows people get from a fresh install? Nada...

At college we have to use Macs for a composition in our sound, sequencing and synthesis module, after using cubase for about 4/5 years, I now have to simultaneously compose 2 pieces and learn how to use logic and therefore a mac before Christmas.

Sucks.

And yet people still ask me "Oh you have a recording setup at home, why don't you have a mac?!" Upon asking the question "Why do I need a mac?" I'm yet to find someone who can actually give me any answer, at all!

How is it a waste of money?

I'm going into the Graphic Design industry... Everyone else will be using macs so it's going to reduce compatibility issues for one thing. I've got nothing against windows either, like I said I'm getting Vista.

I can use both on a professional basis.

MAC is GUFF and the people I meet with the MAC ethos suck tbh,

I prefer getting things done with people that have ambition and freedom of expression.

In my experience MAC users are dull and to pre ocupied with hair gel

For 95% of users a Mac does more. Pro tools? I don't even know what that is.

Most users don't use programs like that. My Mac does everything my PC does (except the framerate on games) and also does a lot more.

It's a lot quieter (almost silent in fact), is more powerful, looks 10 times better, takes up less space, has better residual value, causes me less problems, came with more software, etc, etc.

I don't have a problem with Windows. I don't find it bad at all. I never had the OS crash but I did have to do fairly regular re-formats.

Edit: read about Pro Tools now. Tried Logic Pro?

Either way disliking people for a computers they choose to use is the only sad thing I've seen in this thread And that's from a dedicated PC user (who admittedly would buy a Macbook ).

Its not that I dislike them.

Its more that they dislike me and think they can do more "creative" stuff on a mac when this is clearly not the case.

Some Video editors think that if a film is edited on a PC is crap lol.

Sums up some mac users TBH.

I can use both but Macs just make me a cliche in the business

This thread is hilarious. I sounds like people are in some way self concious about their computers or an Apple owner has just kicked their dog.

I use OSX, My primary computer is a MacBook Pro and I do everything I used to do on my PC on the Mac just as well (apart from finder sucks for file management) and if I want to play a game I use the xbox 360 or wii. I really don't understand why people always use the "well it can't play games" line when trying to attack macs, thats not important to all of us

Seriously, take some happy pills and stop getting so red in the face about... a computer.

Its not really the computer at fault really I have come to realise.

Its the users that have a knack of getting on my T**s
