Hi,

Setup: wireless router > wireless NIC > bridged connection from PC to 360 (wired).

Why is it that unless i run through the Live connection test each time I turn my 360 on I can't connect (ie sign in to my profile)?

Any ideas? Once I've completed the tests (all OK) I can then go back and sign in no problem.

Thanks.

What router have you got?

It might be that it's not assigning you an IP Address on your network automatically? Is DHCP turned on?

Netgear one. It's white. Came with Virgin Media. WGR614v9.

The basic settings page says is ticked YES on Internet IP Address: 'Get Dynamically From ISP'

and

The box is ticked next to: Use Router as DHCP Server with the IP range from 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.51

Default DMZ Server is NOT ticked. Not sure what that is but I've seen it mentioned here a few times.

NAT filtering is SECURED and not OPEN.

Any other issues on your network or is it just the 360?

When I said it's not getting an IP address I meant the 360 itself, (it's not being assigned a spot on your network).

Have you tried a straight up wired connection to see if it works first time through that?

Tried using manual settings on the 360's network settings?
You could use the following
IP Address: 192.168.1.11 (or replace 11 with any free number)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (this is the IP Address of your router, I'm guessing this is correct?)

DNS Settings you could leave set to automatic.
