Why do I keep seeing [img]

They've either: deleted the original image from the hosting site, or the site they're using is blocked or they ballsed up trying to insert the image - either the incorrect link or use of forum bb code.hi as I scroll through a lot of posts there’s many threads when any pictures only show as

Ahh ok cheers, I mean some there’s a good 50 and people have commented on the picture but I can’t see it so I assume it’s just been removed from the host site like you said, annoying as I wanted to see them, curse you free hosting sites!!!

You can try quoting that message and then opening BB code editor near right edge above message writing box.
That can show actual URL of image you can try directly in case there's was some error in embedding link, or some ad blocker etc prevents forum page from loading it.
(also there might be obvious error you can fix in URL)
