Help me, im desperate to upgrade from my x850XT, and i dont even know why?! ive only had the card a month or two, but now i want mooooore power.

Thinking a 7900GT, but been reading reviews and forums that point towards x1800XT. Im enjoy overclocknig and would happily volt mod the card if necessary, has the 7900 got more power for the daring?

maybe i best wait till next gen though, all i really play is BF2 anyway....

If volt modding then go for the 7900 GT.
when overclocked and volt modded will give you 7900 GTX speeds.

But ask yourself this.

Do you really need the extra power?

If you can't resist then go for it enjoy your new hardware and recoup some of the cost selling your old card. :)

LoL -

This is why. Once you have a new card, do not do the above and you will be fine for a long, long time

- Cant help keeping up with reviews

- I went from a 6800GT Agp to my x850XT, i reeeeally want MSAA or Equiv for BF2, i only game at 1280x1024 cos of tft though....

well, i went AGP->PCI-E

the x850XT is a lot noiser i think, seems better performance in some games and slightly worse in others.

It bums HL2 and B&W2, it also loves a bit of BF2 as well, not tested too many games on it.

Elder Scrolls makes me want moooooore

It's not irrational, it's normal!! (It is on here anyway! ;) )

I went from a 6800 AGP to a 7800GT PCIE, and I was very pleased with the performance increase.

I only game at 1280 x 1024 and don't really need any more GPU power, but.....

I keep seeing how well the 7900GT clocks, not to mention the 7900GTX and then there's the X1900XT..... :D

I'm just about managing to hold out though, and waiting to see what the next lot of cards bring.

I owe it to my bank account.... ;)
