Why do people make stupid/annoying comments?

Chinos are actually "fashionable" again. Burtons do them. Weird.

I can't wear chinos.

Pretty weak/pointless responses from most so far, i don't get it, you all seem to fill threads on relationship problems and people complaining about stuff but a more general thread on negative comments fails to go anywhere, even though im sure most of us have gotten annoyed at this stuff at some point?

You are boring to be around and they are desperately trying to provoke some sort of interesting exchange having exhausted the usual avenues.

HTH.

You really shouldn't be surprised by this in GD (never ask anything serious) :)

It wasn't meant to be too serious, more a place for people to discuss the subject and share their annoyances, but you're right i do forget and shoulnd't expect much. :p

It's always a possibility, although it doesn't happen often, just something i don't get, it's like how people fuss over silly things and repeat petty arguments, usually with others, a lot of negativity can be avoided if more were aware of their actions.

What would you like the thread to accomplish? Let's say that the posters in the thread acknowledge that sometimes people post obvious or stupid comments then where would it go from there?

I'd also point out that sometimes the obvious comments are worthwhile, not everyone is self-aware enough to recognise limitations that they have or things that they do which are potentially damaging to themselves. You might be a someone with a good knowledge of yourself and your actions but it could be a pretty fundamental mistake to assume that everyone else shares your level of knowledge.
