Why do people spit ?

I dont tend to spit all that much, only when ive got crap in my mouth ie phlegm etc.

But the guy who works with me, **** me everytime we are outside, he basically makes the ground soaking wet in his spit. Told him numerous time to stop spitting so much as its digusting but it seems like its a habit for him.
 
Each time I spit its a stringy mess. How do those kool kidz do it?

But yea never do outside of playing sports when phlegm build up occurs.
 
Youngsters or to be more specific to your case people younger than you are terrible indeed.

As for spitting, it can be started as a bad habit but then once one gets it, it makes the mouth produce excess saliva, thus forcing the one with the spitting habit to spit in order not to down in his own spit.

Now go and watch golden girls, old timer.
 
I never understood why footballers did it so much, maybe I don't exert myself as much as them?! I find it disgusting who do it on the pavement in a public place. Dregs.

Indeed. It's only really acceptable if you genuinely have swallowed a bug or something.

It's because footballers do it all the time on the pitch - ergo the religious following of football has preached to the ignoramuses that it is a cool and acceptable thing to do in public. Then again it does tend to be the dregs of society that find it an acceptable thing to do.

It's disgusting, unsanitary, and rude. Fortunately some countries more civilised than ours have put in place large fines for such things - and even banned chewing gum. :cool:
 
I don't spit in the street generally unless I have to, ie, something flew into my mouth while it was randomly open.

I do sometimes spit if I'm washing my hands, out with the old, in with the new.
 
People spit in public because it makes them look hard. All the really hard guys do it and as a bonus, chicks dig it. Same as they dig swearing loudly in public.*




























*Or maybe its simply because people who indulge in this filthy activity have less than half a brain cell present in their napper.
