Why do you drink?

I like to drink at a party (I don't drink alone and I have been hammered many times when I was a teenager).
I don't get to the point where I am:
A) Sick
B) Going to be hungover
C) Go to sleep somewhere random

However, on a Fri/Sat night - **** me £4 for a double Vodka Red Bull!!!11one

We have all done it, but a night out excluding food and getting there/back is expensive.

I would rather spend my money on something that I don't 'temporarily rent'. You only rent booze. Five nights on the razzle equals a 5870 for example.

When I buy my own house I doubt I will ever go clubbing, as I would rather spend my money on other things!

I only drink occasionally to make me more sociable, GHB prescription f.t.w :D, no hangover or nasty side effects of alcohol.

Getting hammered is for kids that don't know any better. We've all done it and all regretted it.

However, getting mildly sozzled enjoying a drink you really appreciate is where it's at. Much more enjoyable and no hangover.

Spot on really, as i have got older i have changed what I drink really, alcopops and cheap lager have made way for, real ale, wine and whisky.

If i drink lager now i tend to drink Corona or Peroni.

Mostly to socialise, drinking when going out with friends, parties, weddings and the sort. Also every now and again with the aim of getting drunk, nothing too far to the point of voming but just to get to that "level"...needs to be done every now and again.

Every time I've got drunk since I hit 20 has been an accident where I haven't realised the strength of beverage. I hate not being able to remember the night out, usually I embarrass myself by taking my wingman duties too seriously. :(

Don't make me regret uni even more. :D

At Loughborough Univeristy a few years ago it was £1 a pint on Wednesdays and something like £1.70 on Fridays.
I enjoy a good semi-heavy night out once in a while, but if I don't do it for 2 months then I simply don't care!

A night out in Hanley on a non-student night is hugely expensive. Can easily spend £30 on drinks, £10 on club entry fees and then £10-20 taxi home (depends how many people are sharing tbh), plus £4 on overpriced food before the taxi home. Whole night is about £60, which is why I don't do it.

I only get hammered (if you will) at house parties of good friends where I can crash for the night.

In town I've never been passed the tipsy stage - I drink too slowly or leave big gaps between drinks. The number of times I've bailed others out of silly situations/stopped them walking in the road due to being only mildly inebriated is shocking :/

I love the taste of some drinks. I find that I don't really drink to get drunk, it just happens sometimes when I'm with mates. The next thing you know you have been chatting for hours and your wallet is that much lighter and your head slightly fuzzier....good times.

Even at 19 I don't drink much any more, especially not to just get hammered.

Have a drink or two with food but that's about it, down the pub I get nicely tipsy then stop since it's so much of a better night out.

I went out and got (and still get) hammered because for a few reasons, firstly for some reason it made it really easy to get girls (relatively), and do things which resulted in great 'mad' stories I'll remember forever - which I'd have never done sober.

I'd have never met my current wife if we weren't both hammered, and ended up marrying someone dull and kinda overweight who I met through god-awful match.com. And I find people that are tea-total are simply boring company on a big night out - and are never prepared to stick their head above the parapet to do any mentalness .. instead it's the same-old-grind conversations and actions you could do at any night of the week, whilst actually wasting what could have been a mental Friday night.

So many good times and mental stories from when we were all hammered. So many forgetful boring evenings having a dull curry then off home because we're all sober so we've been talking about mortgage rates and how long it takes to commute 14 miles on the M25 :/

I can't and will not drink for the sake of drinking.

If i'm with friends in a pub or club or at home, I'll have something to drink.
I can never take a sip of alchohol alone though, Just does not feel right.
Much rather drink something healthy when nobody is around.

sometimes i'll have a bottle or wine or 2 out of sheer boredom, or if i'm gaming have a deck of beers.

mostly drink when out with friends down the pub/out in town.

never get hammered anymore tho, i know my limits so just drink until i feel i've had enough :)
