I was just pondering this on my way home from work (driving).

The point of indicators is to INDICATE that you want to do something, right ?
Let people know you want to change lanes, get off a roundabout at a certain exit, pull into the kerb etc..

It just seems to me that recently, people are actually indicating that THEY ARE doing something, not that they want to.
"I'm changing lanes RIGHT NOW but its ok as I put my indicators on at the exact moment I'm doing it regardless of whether you were going to let me in or not"

Am I in the minority here of being someone who likes to stick to the rules of the road and drives in a plesant and relaxed way because quite frankly, its no skin off my nose if I get home at 4:30 instead of 4:25 :D

Do you indicate because YOU WANT to do something or YOU ARE already doing it ?? ;)

Seems like its not just me that has a problem with this then :)

On my way into work I always have to put up with people switching lane MID-ROUNDABOUT !!! :(

The middle lane is technically the correct one to be in for where I want to go, but the right lane also goes the same way and is 99% of the time clearer.
People then accelerate hard and then nip back in to the left.
Me not being in a hurry always takes the middle lane and you can always (and I mean always) tell who's using the right lane to overtake.
And a couple of times I've had people actually trying to merge with me half way around the roundabout.

Christ are they in that much of a hurry to get to work/die ??
