Why do you support your team?

I got taken to a spurs game by my uncle when I was about 4 and was hooked.

He used to take me to a game a season and I loved it, I try and get along myself now as much as I can, usually make 2-3 games a season, but mortgages are a pain on the finance's.

Moved to Devon when I was about 3 and started going along to watch City, used to be a mascot for them and although I've now moved away I still class them as my local club.

Both sides of my family supported Spurs and I grew up within walking distance of their old training ground. I didn't really have much choice in who I supported. :)

Born and raised in Leeds

Dad supports Leeds

Dad often lent Jack Charlton fishing gear

Grandad supported Leeds

Grandad was butcher to the vast majority of Leeds players for the best part of a decade

My dad brainwashed me from an early age, I was sat in my pram in the old east terrace of The Valley from about the age of 1 (yes I know that could be a form of child abuse, ive heard all the jokes :p) and have gone week in, week out ever since even when we were playing our home games at Crystal Palace and West Ham.

And apart from that, ive always lived within walking distance of the ground, the rest of my familly support Charlton (we must have about 20 season tickets scattered across the ground) and all my mates do.

Man United Fans: because im a cockney...

errrm Villa... well i was born into a family full of crazed villa fans... had my first season ticket at like.. 6? and have been every season untill 06/07.... in which i couldnt afford it now im not a student.. lol

although i should be back next season =]

nice family club! unlike the city.. ewwww!

Born in Manchester. Also my Dad used to sneak me in on matchdays when i was a kid. At the time, he was a policeman so he knew most of the police on duty there at the time. :)

Man Utd - when the premiership kicked off all the lads in our class picked a team......guess my choice turned out rather lucky, i wasnt really into football before that........

MK Dons - Local team

also when i was a lad we used to head down to watch Newport Pagnell Town

Ditto.

My dad also had a kick about with the Busby Babes when he was a wee nipper.

My auntie lived very close to White Hart Lane and bought me a shirt when I was about 6, had no reason to like anyone else. Going to Boothferry Park was dodgy in them days :)

United when I was about 3 :- First kit i was given, first game i saw, neighbours all avid united fans and you can imagine how it was if we didnt have sky sports :P

I used to live there and played for the Newport Pagnell youth team occasionally :).

As to my team, my family were from the east end plus Perry Groves is my second cousin. Was the first football team i really knew about when i started getting interested in footy.

Roma - brainwashed from all those night shifts watching Roma channel as there is nothing else that's good on tv!

Real Madrid - I don't know I just kind of always liked Spanish football and I did use to side with them exclusively before the night shifts came :p

Born in Bradford. Lived in Bradford. No, I dont support Leeds neither. ;)

You support the team where you grew up, like family you have no choice.

My mum started supporting Manchester united sometime at the start of the 60s and is absolutely obsessed, so indoctrinated me from a young age :) Never really got a choice in the matter from the age of about 4.

First kit I had was from my uncle, which was actually a nottingham forest one. I still follow them, partly as some form of punishment, but he never had the contact hours my mum did to convert me.

My dad hates football, oddly, always goes out when I go visit my parents to watch a game :p Also vaguely started watching Hearts since moving to Edinburgh, just because it's the nearest stadium and I can actually go watch some games there. Doesn't touch my obsession with united though, just good to go for the atmosphere etc.
