• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Why do you use the term AIB?

Regardless of what it actually stands for, it's an easy and short acronym that all/most of us understand.

It's just quick and easy to use, just because it's not pedantically sufficient isn't a reason to drop it.

Its simple, gets the job done, stands out and is fairly specific. Custom cards sounds awful and could be used to mean things other than 3rd party coolers/PCB designs as it is so generic a term in comparison, while non-ref is just awkward.

Even nVidia/AMD PR do it - I've heard it in videos before "We expect our AIBs to do X", etc. or "You'd have to talk to our AIBs for that information" and so on - sometimes but not always used with partner.
