Am running a P5Q-E motherboard (4gb ram + q9650 @ 4.05).

Came to switch on tonight to find board needs re-setting as gone back to default.

Cannot understand why?

It's been fine since it did the same thing about 2/3 months ago. No BSOD's or 'anything'. It did the same a few months before that - say 3 times in total in the 12/15mnths I've owned the board.

Cmos battery is working fine - did not need to re-set the clock.

Not a big deal but irritating me now!!!! ... Anyone any ideas?

why is it that only after you have posted do you notice the dumb error 'my' board not 'by' board - my apologies

Normally if your overclock is not 100% stable you will get occasional resets during boot.

Try and up the cpu volts a little and see of this helps.

Thanks for the advise, got to admit had not thought of instability because of lack of volts.:(

Must say that the only 'stress' testing I did was Occt + intel burn + prime. Did not run for long - 30 min max so .....Did not see much point in running overnight as others have said they do .... maybe it does need a little more.

Then again the 'loss' is so infrequent and runs stable otherwise + is nice and cool. May just live with it ;)
