Hi all,

Is it just my PC or does installing new drivers or windows updates take ages on Vista? It takes longer to install than XP did and then it takes even longer to shut down and reboot. Once Vista has done it's "thing" though, it runs sweet as a nut:)

Thanks

on my rig, it installs drivers as fast as Xp, at least, and boots up/shuts down much faster..

Must be dodgy drivers :/

Doesn't this depend on the drivers, some force a System Restore point which obviously will take longer to install.

It can also depend on what drivers you're installing. Mine is as slow as hell until I get the chipset and graphics card drivers on there, then it starts to fly. :)
